  4. Introductions, Overview of orientation, Phone policy.
  5. FSEM.
  6. General Ground Rules: phones, masks, breaks, bathroom, speaking (louder than usual) and listening, laptops
  7. Pairs and Intros
  • Get to know your partner.
  • Hometown, Major, Dorm (or living arrangements), Time Commitments beyond school, Languages
  • Why DU?
  • Why this FSEM?
  • What burning question do you have about DU, Denver, academics and/or campus life?
  • What are the differences between professors and HS teachers in terms of job responsibilities?

Be ready to introduce your partner to the class.

    1. Due: W 9/6 at midnight: Canvas Discussion Post #1 – Transition to DU (Canvas/Discussions/Intros, Expectations, Concerns…)
    2. Read: To Professor at University (Canvas/Files/Readings)

Rest of Week:

  1. Th 9/7, 1:00-2:45pm meeting with Prof. Benz and 4D Peer Mentor Chaz Eaton.
    1. Meet in Sturm 354. Bring laptops. We’ll answer more burning questions, we’ll discuss your schedules, and begin advising, degree audits, etc.
  2. Fri, 9/8, 11am – lunch on campus
